About

I have been fixing guitars full-time in my shop since 2021. I received formal training from John Levan at the Guitar Services Workshop here in Tennessee. Before that training I learned a lot about making guitars play right while working as a touring guitar tech for Blind Melon, Nada Surf, Wolf Alice, Guster, and more. Every guitar that crosses my bench gets my undivided attention. I don’t have employees or apprentices, and from drop off to pick up I am the only person who will touch your instrument. From fretwork to wiring, my specialty is getting well-played instruments feeling like new again and ready for your next gig, guitar lesson, or just for playing at home.
Outside of fixing guitars I play guitar and bass in a few local punk bands and also enjoy reading and collecting horror novels.

SHOP POLICIES

  1. Repairs are by appointment only made by text or DM (no calls).

  2. I reserve the right to refuse service or turn down any repair (no call no shows will be left on read).

  3. Clients have the opportunity to try out guitars in the shop to make sure they are satisfied with the repair. Clients have an additional 30 days after a repair to bring it in for “tweaks” if they are unhappy with a repair. After 30 days, any additional work will be charged at usual rates.

  4. Payment is due in full when the guitar is picked up. I accept Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, and cash.

  5. I do repairs for lots of working musicians here in Nashville and understand that not everyone in Music City is getting rich slinging a guitar. If you need a repair but are short on cash, let me know ahead of time and we can figure something out, whether it’s a cheaper repair or a trade.

  6. All are welcome in my shop, from complete beginners to seasoned players, and I do my best to make every person who walks in the door feel comfortable, no matter who you are or what your knowledge of guitars is. My workspace is a repair shop, not a good ol’ boys club, and racist or homophobic BS is never tolerated.

FAQ

Where are you located?
My shop is in East Nashville, the address is given through email once your appointment is made.
What is your turnaround time?
Turnaround time varies due to workload, but I am usually able to get your guitar back to you in 5 to 7 business days. I charge a $50 rush fee to put your instrument next in line ( 2 or 3 business days). If you need something fixed tomorrow or on a weekend or holiday I charge double if I’m able to do it.
How much does it cost?
My rates are listed on the repairs/prices page of this website.
Why is it by appointment only?
I make sure that when you drop off your guitar for a diagnosis and quote you have my undivided attention. No one else is in the shop and I am not in the middle of a big repair when you show up. In order to do this, all repairs and pick up must be done on an appointment basis. I realize this is a little inconvenient for the customer, but it ensures you have my undivided attention and that your guitar gets repaired quick!
Do I need to buy strings or parts?
I carry Ernie Ball strings in most of the usual sizes for Electric guitar, acoustic guitar and electric bass and sell them at a fair price. I have a stock of normal replacement parts for Gibson and fender guitars. For new tuners, pickups or other upgrades please check ahead of time or order your own parts in advance.

How do I schedule an appointment?
Due to the size of my shop and the staff (it’s just me!), all repairs are done by appointment.
To make an appointment, please email me:
• the type of guitar or bass
• the repairs or upgrades you wish to have done or the problems you are experiencing with your instrument
• A convenient time for you to drop it off during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 9-5).
I will email back to confirm with you, and give you the address and drop-off instructions. All pick ups and drop offs are done by appointment, this is to ensure that you get my undivided attention when you show up to my shop and that I’m not in the middle of a big repair or meeting with another client. If you are unable to make it to an appointment please let me know ahead of time and we can reschedule. When you show up for your appointment I spend 5 to 10 minutes inspecting your instrument to determine what repairs are needed. After discussing the cost and the options I will give you a quote on the spot. If I discover additional issues with the instrument as I’m working on it, you will receive a text before being charged for any additional repairs.Turnaround time is usually 5 to 7 business days but can vary due to workload, rush fees are available.
